"Breathe in ecology, breathe out art" (Satish Kumar)
My work is inspired by nature and the environment. I use recycled materials whenever possible, creating natural forms to raise awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability. I have a particular affinity to trees, their height reflecting my need to escape the confines of stressful living and soar 'up, up and away'.
My creative interests include water colour painting and ceramics. In 2006 I completed a Foundation Course and BA in Contemporary Textile Practice at UWIC, which introduced me to the use of hard materials such as copper and wires.
I enjoy drawing with the line, whether with pen, wire, scalpel or stitch, often using light and shadow to enhance my work.
