An Event - is something organised by a CDG member for the rest of the group to enjoy. If you wish to join in something on the calendar, email the person who has posted the event for details etc.
If you want to set up an event it can be whatever you want it to be, fun, serious, practical or theoretical.
It can be something as loose as an invitation to join you to draw somewhere on a certain date & time. There are certain city pubs like Dempsey's, Weatherspoons Prince Of Wales, where we've met in the past for drawing and general get togethers - if you know a particularly good pub or cafe - email a time and date to everyone.
It can be an invite to your studio space, (limit numbers if you need to).
It can be an invite to participate in a 'workshop' - discussion etc. on a subject you are interested in - again numbers can be limited as you need.
It can be a 'Show & Tell' evening - usually at a larger venue - where members are invited to bring along a drawing, their own or somebody else's, and to talk about what interests them about it for 5 minutes or so.
It can be a trip somewhere to see something such as exhibitions.
To set something up, read the help pages and follow the instructions on the calendar page to add items. No-one is able to attend all events or expected to - we are all busy and attendance will depend on people's diaries and the amount of notice given, but even groups of 3 or 4 are productive and enjoyable.
In short our events are about getting together to do things, share ideas, socialize and have fun.
If you attend an event take your camera and send us the pics. we don't have photographs of many of our past events - so any future records would be handy.
