' We Meet  We Draw  We Drink  We Go ' (Quote - Chris Glynn)

Cardiff Drawing Group is an informal network of artists who love to draw. We try to meet about once a month to share the experience of drawing with like minded people. What we do is driven by those who participate, make suggestions or offer to share their skills. There is no committee or formal membership and the only paper work involved is your sketch book.
The group began in 2002 on the initiative of Chris Glynn, now head of Illustration at UWIC. In a burst of optimism, our first meeting was at the Cardiff Hilton Hotel. The group has slowly evolved into an established core of individuals whose enthusiasm and commitment have maintained the program of monthly events, social get-togethers and more recently, exhibitions.
Our events and activities are offered and managed by individuals who have a particular interest in that field. Our cohesion rests on drawing - and a belief that doing it in a convivial atmosphere is a good idea. Hence, many of our activities end up in a pub where the serious business of talking, sharing ideas, mutual support and the general socialising that holds the group together takes place. Over six years we have accumulated a large number of participants from a broad range of backgrounds who attend events as and when their interest or other commitments allow. The group successfully rolls on, and to date, has staged two very successful exhibitions - we are always on the lookout for opportunities to exhibit.
